Profitable fraud with Cyberpunk 2077: The founders of CD Projekt red became billionaires

British investors demanded that CD Projekt remove Adam Kiczynski and Marcin Iwinski from their posts

Despite the scandal with the deception of players and journalists, the release of the game Cyberpunk 2077 literally made the founders of the Polish company CD Projekt RED rich.
Earlier it became known that the production costs of the project could be recouped due to pre-orders. Managed to sell more than eight million copies, the lion’s share of which fell on the PC.

However, this does not end there. As noted by the journalist David Dawkins, despite the fluctuations in the price of CD Projekt RED shares due to the problematic start of sales, the founders of the company Marcin Iwinski and Michal Kicinski became billionaires.

Kichinsky left CD Projekt RED in 2013, however, he owns 10% of the shares. Before the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the businessman’s fortune at the end of last week was estimated at approximately $ 900 million.

Ivinsky’s share is 13%. At the peak of market interest in CD Projekt RED (December 4), its fortune was estimated at $ 1.5 billion, but after the release, the estimates had to be adjusted to $ 1.1 billion.

It’s unclear how long CD Projekt RED will be considered billionaires, given the studio’s plight continues to deteriorate.

analysts believe that the management of the polish studio made a big mistake by deciding to release cyberpunk 2077 in such a deplorable state. yes, the pc version works more or less normally, but the top management of the company literally lied at meetings with investors and journalists, talking about how “wonderful” the versions for consoles of the last generation work.

in reality, porting to ps4 and Xbox one was not given enough attention. Moreover, at the last meeting with investors in CD Projekt RED admitted that the company literally deceived representatives of Sony and Microsoft so that they passed through the control of raw builds of Cyberpunk 2077. The promise of refunds is also not worth a damn, because the Poles relied on the goodwill of the platform holders, and not on special agreements.

people who expect that the developers will bring to mind the game on ps4 and Xbox one, should remove the “rose-colored glasses”. even after edits, it is highly unlikely that the performance of the above versions will improve. This was confirmed in CD Projekt RED, asking to moderate expectations.
