8 Million people pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077, claims CD Projekt

The company CD Projekt RED announced that users have issued 8 million pre-orders for Cyberpunk 2077. This number alone makes the long-awaited RPG the fastest-selling in 2020, but in addition to pre-orders, there will also be initial sales. It is expected that the total circulation of Cyberpunk 2077 will exceed 10 million copies in the very near future. For comparison, “The Witcher 3” took almost a year to take 10 million.

The layout by format was also interesting. CD Projekt RED said that the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 accounted for 59% of pre-orders (4.7 million copies), while the console version accounted for only 41% (3.2 million copies).

With 4.7 million copies on PC, Cyberpunk 2077 is the fastest-selling game in PC gaming history. Previous record holders are World of Warcraft: Shadowlands (3.7 million on day one) and Diablo III (3.5 million).
