Lost Ark – Berserker Building Guide
The Berserker is the giant two-handed warrior-class sword wielder in Lost Ark. They deal tremendous damage with their greatswords while being able to withstand many incoming attacks. However, to get the most out of the slayer advanced class, you’ll want to make sure you’re using the right build. Here is our Lost Ark Berserker Build Guide.
Overview of the Berserker class
The Berserker is an absolute unit on the battlefield. Its high damage AoE attacks and high survivability make it one of the easiest advanced classes to play. The only downsides of the Berserker are the long attack animations and slow cooldowns. Luckily, Berserker’s identity skills can help offset these slight disadvantages.
The berserker’s identity skill is called burst mode. As you fill up your Rage Gauge, you can switch to Burst Mode, which increases your movement speed, attack speed, damage, and critical damage. In this mode, you are pretty much unstoppable and will crush everything in your path. Because of this, you should strive to be in burst mode as often as possible. Your build should work to increase your effectiveness both in and out of burst mode.
Best Berserker Build
The Berserker will perform best if your build focuses on maximizing overall class damage and survivability. While this particular setup lacks mobility, it’s ideal for players looking to dish out big damage while staying alive and buffing teammates. Players earn skill points with each level up. Players should work towards the following build when they reach level 50. It’s recommended that you first max out the skills you use the most or are the strongest, then fill in the rest of the skills from there.
| capability | skill level | step 1 | rank 2 | level 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| attack blade | 10 | Penetrating Strike | vulnerability improvement | counterattack |
| Diving slash | 7 | Excellent mobility | Sword Bash Design | N / A |
| end stroke | 10 | persistence | vulnerability detection | confirm kill |
| hellblade | 10 | training results | Melt | Earth Flip |
| red dust | 7 | Fast preparation | life hit | N / A |
| shoulder load | 7 | Excellent mobility | hit down | N / A |
| Stormblow | 10 | Fast preparation | Improved Strike | Stormblow |
| whirlwind | 10 | maintain improvement | broken blade | vacuum slash |
While we’ve found this build to work best for us, it’s possible that a slightly different build might work better for you. There’s a bit of flexibility when it comes to what combat skills you use, so you can change this build to best suit your playstyle.
Berserker Engravings
Once you reach level 50, you can start using engravings. Each class has two class engravings that slightly change the way your class works. For Berserker, these are Berserker’s Technique and Mayhem. We recommend that most players start with the Berserk Technique engraving and progress to the Chaos engraving for more advanced players.
- Berserk Technique removes the exhaustion debuff after burst mode ends, allowing you to immediately start generating rage again. It also grants 20% bonus movement speed, 20% attack speed, and 30% critical hit rate in burst mode.
- Mayhem removes the Fury gauge entirely, allowing you to toggle Burst mode on and off as you see fit. However, this is associated with considerable costs. In Chaos Burst mode, Berserkers are capped at 25% of their maximum health and only gain 25% of all incoming shields from support classes. Mayhem also has lower stat bonuses, gaining 15% movement speed, 15% attack speed, and no bonus critical hit rate.
You also have access to some general engravings that can further increase the Berserker’s damage. These can be upgraded a maximum of three times at a time and are activated by engraving points on rings, necklaces, and earrings. Below are some great Berserker engraving options.
- Ambush Master – Increases attack damage from behind by up to 25 percent.
- Cursed Doll – Increases your attack power by 16 percent and decreases healing by 25 percent.
- Sharp Blunt Weapon – Plus 50 percent crit damage, but your attacks have a chance to deal 20 percent less damage.
- Resentment – Increases damage against bosses or higher ranked enemies by 20 percent, but also increases damage from them by 20 percent.
Berserk awakening skills
Awakening Skills are extremely powerful skills that have longer cooldowns. You will unlock these by following Beatrice’s post-level 50 quest lines. Each class will have two unique awakening skills, but only one can be equipped at a time. The awakening skill you should choose for Berserker is directly related to the engraving used.
- Chains of Vengeance pull enemies in and then explode for massive damage. This skill is best used with the Berserker Technique engraving.
- Berserk Fury charges to unleash a colossal blow. It gains damage and range as it charges, peaking at the end of the meter. Berserker Rage deals more damage than Chains of Vengeance but generates less Rage. For this reason, we recommend this skill with the Mayhem Engraving.
So there you have it, this is our Lost Ark Berserker Build Guide. This is an all-around slayer build, but remember that there are builds that are more focused on a specific type of content. Builds are somewhat subjective, so feel free to tweak this build to suit your playstyle as needed.
