CD Projekt doesn’t know how Cyberpunk 2077’s issues will affect future expansions and multiplayer

By now we are all aware that the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has not gone as expected. CD Projekt has apologized for this and has urged affected users (especially those who are playing on last-generation consoles) to initiate a return and refund process while they work on two updates that will arrive in January and February with the aim to repair all errors. However, the situation has raised other long-term issues. In that sense, CD Projekt does not know how the Cyberpunk 2077 problems will affect future expansions and multiplayer, which were not yet scheduled.
This is what Adam Kicinski, president of the Polish company, had to say about when the post-launch content will be revealed at a recent conference with the company’s shareholders.
First of all, we haven’t confirmed any dates yet, and as I’ve said before, it’s hard to judge now . We are in an unexpected situation and we will have to reevaluate. It is scheduled for January . We are now focusing on managing the single player release, working on patches, communication and, as I said at the beginning of this meeting, our focus is still on the players. We will see other plans; obviously the direction is to proceed as planned, but we have to sit down and talk about it.
According to Kicinski’s words, the upcoming month of January would continue to be the time when CD Projekt plans to reveal the approximate release date of the story expansions and the expected multiplayer mode. However, the current circumstances of the project make it unlikely to believe that this planning will be maintained. And it is that in addition to solving all the problems that currently affect Cyberpunk 2077, the Polish company is also working on the improved version for the next-gen, scheduled for the final stretch of 2021.
