As there is no certain tutorial in the game on where to find Moonstones, it can be difficult to find Moonstones because they are super-rare as well.

How to Get Moonstone in Moonstone Island

The Moonstone resource is one of the rarest resources in the game and it is frequently used in crafting recipes that are necessary for progression. Once players have reached Moonstone Island at the start of the game, they will be tasked with an objective to find Moonstone. Before finding the Moonstone, it is best to know that every Island has only 1 Moonstone on it and after finding a Moonstone of an Island, you will be able to get the Moonstone again from that same island in the next season.

Now, to find the Moonstone on an island, you need to go around the island and cut away the tall grass. Usually, the Moonstones are hidden behind the tall grass so, it is best to remove them by using the Scythe Tool. However, the best method to find Moonstones is to look for them in the nighttime. Moonstones shine bright in the nighttime and if they are hidden behind the Tall grass, you will be able to spot them from a distance.

Once you have come across a shiny item behind tall grass, use the Scythe to remove the tall grass and then pick up the Moonstone by pressing the E Button or Left-Click. It is best to store the Moonstones in the chest inside your house on Moonstone Island for the early game and use them later in the crafting recipes when required.
