CD Projekt - on the problematic release of Cyberpunk 2077: "It was a huge lesson that we will never forget"

Cyberpunk 2077 will receive its first free DLC in early 2021 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, as announced by the game’s official website.

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the events of 2020, without a doubt. On PC it is an extraordinary video game; on PS4 and Xbox One a poorly optimized title full of bugs and errors that CD Projekt promises to fix very soon, even more so with the next-gen versions in 2021.

While patch 1.06 has been released which greatly improves Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on the consoles, issues are still being reported in these versions. However, its creators want to regain the trust of the players and that is why they have announced when the first free DLC will arrive.

CD Projekt has opened the official website of Cyberpunk 2077 and as soon as we enter we can see a launch trailer and a small text that reveals that the first free DLC will arrive (in Night City) in early 2021 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC ., so we will have to be vigilant.

It was already rumored that we would have downloadable content at the beginning of the new year, but now it is confirmed that it will reach all versions of the game very soon. Of course, no details of its theme and content have been revealed, although yesterday we told you about a function that could have to do with this first DLC.

The Polish company has reaped very good sales with Cyberpunk 2077, achieving an incredible 13 million copies sold, counting the units that have been returned on PS4 and Xbox One. However, the controversy over the console versions has seen CD Projekt’s stock drop 34% and its studio founders lose a third of their equity.

As with The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077 will receive DLC and expansions that will expand the main story of the futuristic RPG, apart from the multiplayer mode that will arrive throughout 2021, along with the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions S.
