The Quarry: 10 Tips To Help You Get Started | Beginner’s Guide

The Quarry is a new Teen Horror game published by 2K Games. It is set to be released on 10th June 2022 and is available for Playstation, Xbox, and PC. The Quarry is similar to the Horror Games in the Dark Pictures Anthology series. But there are some things different as well in this game and we have set together some tips for the Beginners who are trying to understand this game.

10 Tips For Beginners

We’ll go through the 10 tips of this game which will help you understand the game and what it is about. The Tips are the Following.

Brief Story

There is a group of Teen Counselors that is going to have a party at the Hackett’s Quarry. But before they can enjoy their summer camp holidays, they get threatened by the locals and there is also a Far More Sinister thing that hunts them.

There are 9 teens in the group and they must survive until the daylight while the players control each one making choices that could determine whether they live or die.

Choices & Consequences

Just like the Until Dawn & Dark Pictures Anthology, the Quarry is all about making choices and facing the consequences. You’ll control the character that you are playing and in certain scenes, you have to decide what to do, and whatever you chose will have an effect on progression. You can investigate a scream that you heard or not, you can save your friend or you can just run away to save yourself. There’ll be a lot of choices in the game that’ll decide how many characters will die and how many will survive.

Characters

There is a total of 9 playable characters in this game and each one of them has its own unique personality. The characters also have some relationships with each other and that’ll let the players make choices in the game as well.

Number of Ways to Die

Just like the other teen horror games, quarry also has a number of ways to die for each character. But in the Quarry, there are 10-12 ways to die for each character of the game. The players will have to make choices that’ll keep alive their characters through the night. So, if any player survived a death scene, he’d not be clear and there’ll be more choices to come that you’ll have to choose wisely to keep alive your character in the game.

Collectible Cards

The Quarry also has collectibles in the game and players can collect a total of 187 cards throughout the gameplay. Players will have to play this game more focused in order to collect all the cards.

Gameplay Length

There are a total of 10 Chapters in this game and the Gameplay Length of the Quarry game is around 10 hours. If characters face an early death in the gameplay then the time can be whittled down to 6-7 hours.

Accessibility Options

There are Accessibility options for each of the characters as well in this game. Players can change the original gameplay into what they are more comfortable with. You can customize the accessibility options as well for each character. You can have easier quick-time events, can add aim assist, can also even remove the combat gameplay, and much more.

Local & Online Multiplayer

The local co-op & online co-op is pretty similar to the Dark Pictures Anthology. You can play online with up to 7 players. In both of the co-op situations, players will have to make decisions on key choices and not kill all the characters in a matter of hours.

Death Rewind

After finishing the game once, a new option called Death Rewind becomes available for future runs. It allows for undoing up to three character deaths for that playthrough.

Filters

There are also filters that you can apply to your gameplay. There are 3 filters that you can put on. An Indie Horror that gives a film grain style to the gameplay, 80’s Horror that turns the game into a VHS-style movie, and Classic Horror for Black & White gameplay. These 3 filters come in a Horror History Visual Effects pack that comes free with a pre-ordering of this game.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
