V Rising: How to Trade with New Vampire Merchants

The full-release version of V Rising (v1.0) has an addition of a brand-new end-game biome called Ruins of Mortium which includes several new locations filled with vampiric foes and monstrosities that you can defeat to gain Darculin Blood or participate in newly added world events called Rift Incursions.

Moreover, the Ruins of Mortium biome is home to several new V Blood bosses that you will get to encounter as you explore the biome and also a couple of new Vampire traders in the town which might help you in getting shattered weapons for turning them into Legendary Weapons.

This guide will help you how to trade with the new vampire merchants in V Rising.

Where to Find Vampire Merchants in V Rising

Two vampire merchants can be found in the Ruins of Mortium biome, one of them is located in the southern part of the biome and the other one is located in the northern part of the biome. The merchant in the southern part is considered to be a low-tier merchant, whereas, the merchant in the northern part is considered to be a high-tier merchant based on the rarity of items they trade.

How to Trade with New Vampire Merchants

Trading with the new Vampire Merchants will require a couple of new resources called Stygian Shards and Greater Stygian Shards. Unlike other human merchants, they don’t accept Copper/Silver/Goldsun Coins, and you don’t have to be in a Human Form to trade with them.

The Merchant in the southern part will accept Stygian Shards and in exchange, he will trade you Ancestral Weapons (Rare) which then you can use to craft Rare Weapons at the Ancestral Forge. The Merchant in the northern part will accept Greater Stygian Shards and in exchange, he will trade you Ancestral Weapons (Epic) which then you can use to craft Epic Weapons at the Ancestral Forge.

Both of the merchants will have a stock of 20 for every Ancestral Weapon they offer and all of the weapons will cost a certain amount of Stygian Shards/Greater Stygian Shards depending upon which merchant you are trading with.

Trading with the low-tier merchant will cost you 750 Stygian Shards for each Ancestral Weapon, and trading with the high-tier merchant will cost you 1,500 Greater Stygian Shards.

Is it Worth it Trade with Vampire Merchants?

As both of the new merchants only trade weapons in exchange for new resources, it is only recommended to deal with the merchant in the northern part to get yourself Epic Weapons. However, it can help you get good rare weapons earlier in the game if you have managed to get the required amount of Stygian Shards.
