Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: How to Parry
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 combat system is severely improved from the past installments of the Spider-Man series providing some of the new mechanics with more dynamic move sets and combos to use. Dodging the enemy attacks in Spider-Man 2 does allow you to get away from the danger of being hit by a heavy attack from the enemy but the new Parry mechanic is more suitable for tackling all kinds of enemies especially, the ones with the weapons.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to parry in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
How to Parry in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
The Parry mechanic in the combat system of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 plays a crucial role in tackling enemies. Both Peter and Miles have access to the new Parry ability right from the start of the game. Meaning, that players don’t have to unlock it through the Skill Tree for them to use. To Parry the attacks in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you need to press the L1 button when the visual indicator flashes on Spider-Men’s head.
There are three types of visual indicators, White, Yellow, and Red. All these indicators project the enemy attack type leading from Light Attack to Heavy Attack. Fortunately, you can parry all kinds of attacks putting both Spider-Men in a great spot during combat. You don’t have to worry about dodging during combat as parrying the attacks will let the Spider-Men attack the enemy back and even knock them out with a perfect parry.
However, there is one element that you need to be aware of and that is getting rid of the enemies’ weapons. To do so, you need to spend some Skill Points in the Combat section of the Shared Skill Tree to unlock the Parry Disarm skill. With this skill learned, parrying an enemy on its Light Attack (White Visual Indicator) will allow you to disarm the enemy making it easier for you to take out the enemy.
