You will start the adventure with 5 lives and you can increase them up to a maximum of 99. There are various ways to increase the total number of lives for the characters in Super Mario Bros. Wonder:

• Pick up 1-Up Mushrooms from mystery blocks.
• Buy 1-Up Mushrooms from Poplin Shops.
• Collect 100 coins to earn a 1-Up Mushroom, every time.

All of the methods mentioned above can be used to get more lives for all of the characters in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Alternatively, you can also buy the 1-Up Mushroom for infinite times from the Poplin Shops. Every world has 1 Poplin Shop that you will get to unlock by progressing in the respective world. Poplin Shop offers 1-Up Mushroom in two types:

• 1x 1-Up Mushroom
• 5x 1-Up Mushroom

1x 1-Up Mushroom will give you 1 extra life whereas, 5x 1-Up Mushroom will give you 5 lives. Purchasing 1x 1-Up Mushroom will cost you 5 Flower Coins whereas, purchasing 5x 1-Up Mushroom will cost you 20 Flower Coins. It is best to buy the bundle of 1-Up Mushrooms as it will save you some Flower Coins.

Lastly, you can gain an extra life just by collecting regular coins. The threshold for collecting the coins is 100 and as you collect 100 coins, they reward you with extra life and start from 0 again.
